Why join the SILC?
Because joining the SILC, a federally chartered organization, can have a very powerful, positive impact on independent living for people with disabilities – and the SILC needs committed, capable people to help it do its vital work.
Independent living means having the basic rights, responsibilities, and resources essential for self reliance and Self determination as well as having equal access to opportunities for work, education, community participation, and a life of prosperity even if you happen to have a disability.
If you are concerned about the importance of independent living the SILC is an excellent place for you to get effectively involved. IF you have a passion for independent living and IL issues, if you are willing to roll up your sleeves and work on having a meaningful impact, we heartily encourage you to join us on the SILC.
